GrowSafe is the foremost global technology company for Bovine Efficiency, pioneering predictive analytics on an individual animal basis, using cutting-edge technologies to support producers in making more informed decisions about their animals.

Operating internal final-stage manufacturing and assembly, GrowSafe produces the highest quality data collection units in the industry, collecting thousands of data points each day and analyzing them to compute novel insights and make informed predictions about individual animal performance.

We are now looking to hire an experienced Director of Manufacturing to oversee all manufacturing operations, ensure production meets the required deadlines, quality standards and is completed within the operational budget. The Director of Manufacturing will report to the CEO and be a member of the Executive Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the overall strategy and future direction of GrowSafe product lines.


  • Ensure the company has a reputation for delivering the highest quality of products every time
  • Create and implement best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance
  • Implement a customer focused operational culture delivering world class customer service levels
  • Design and implement appropriate quality control processes to identify, quantify and ultimately improve quality within the company
  • Drive improvements in reliability for key aspects of the product by completing reliability studies and identifying improvement options
  • Develop a strategic plan for cost down and manufacturing/asset productivity
  • Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process
  • Ensure the manufacturing function is providing value to external and internal stakeholders
  • Foster an atmosphere of continuous improvement and learning
  • Provide design for manufacturing input at early stages in the new product development process, coordinating with and supporting the new product development team to implement new and revised designs and developing effective processes to ensure manufacturability of product while maintaining quality, safety and environmental standards and achieving cost targets
  • Ensure that Environmental, Health and Safety, manufacturing and quality standards and procedures are adhered to
  • Provide leadership to departments under control and coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions
  • Contribute in Executive Team meetings, bringing past-experiences and opinions forward to be an active part of executive decision-making within the company
  • Inspire and motivate the team


  • Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers
  • Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels

  • An appreciation of and an ability to positively resolve issues arising from different cultures


  • Engineering degree – a Masters of Engineering is an asset
  • Six Sigma black belt or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Minimum 10 years senior manufacturing leadership experience
  • Experience of working with outsourcing partners
  • Experience operating internationally
  • Experience implementing and delivering quality control processes
  • Experience in driving productivity and ROI in a discrete manufacturing environment
  • Experience in managing a global supply chain
  • Ability/experience representing the company with customers and the industry
